This is my recording of "The Battle of the Boyne" #148 page 211. The recording time is 1 minute 56 seconds. I used Audacity on a Mac with a usb mic. The name Ed is what I would like to use.
Thanks

Section 78 is PL OK. Thank you, Sonia.

Section 148 is PL OK, thank you, Ed, except the url isn't standard. It doesn't need the "128kbps" before irishpoetry. I see, it looks confusing in the "Save Files As" instructions. Just this part is the model for the actual url:

irishpoetrypart1_###_graves_128kb.mp3

The system adds other info that comes before it in the final production, but you must have typed in "128kbps." Compare with other people's urls and you'll see it isn't there.

Yours worked as it is, but I think it will have to be fixed before cataloging.

Thanks I was a bit confused by the instructions for the url. This should be better for #148 "The Battle of the Boyne". I also uploaded it again.

Hello! Welcome to Librivox!

Unfortunately, another reader already claimed that section above you a day before you. I'm sorry about that. Do you have another poem that you would like to read?

If you do decide to record another poem for this project, there are a few things that need to be done before you can record the part:

In order to put your claim officially in the system, I have to put in a name for you to be credited by in the catalog. Do you want to be known by forum username, real name, or a pseudonym?

If you haven't done it already, you'll need to do the 1-minute test before recording the section you requested. Or, as an alternate, you can use the first 30 seconds or so of this recording as your test. However, I would recommend not to record the whole thing until you’ve gotten the OK on your test recording - that way, if there's something drastically wrong with your setup that requires you to re-do the whole recording, you won't have wasted your time.

Here’s the article explaining the 1 minute test: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=1-Minute_Test

And another article explaining recording in general for new readers: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Newbie_Guide_to_Recording

Hopefully, this wasn't an overwhelming amount of information! :D
