The Mystery of the Fires by Edith Lavell ( - 0).

All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/mystery-of-the-fires-v2-by-edith-lavell/

Mary Louise Gay decided to spend the summer holiday in her family's cottage at Shady Nook. But an unknown arsonist has been setting the cottages on fire and it's up to Mary Lou, her best friend Jane, and their loyal pup Silky, to find out who the culprit is and save the houses and their summer holiday. ( Mary Escano)
  • Text source (only read from this text!): https://www.gutenberg.org/files/43583/43583-h/43583-h.htm
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Before setting this up I just wanted confirmation that this is a new version and that you are not picking up the abandoned version.

Hi David,
I'm planning this as my own solo project. I didn't know that there was an abandoned version.

Will set this up for you shortly.

edit: Let me know if any changes are needed. Have you already asked someone to be the DPL? If not we can advertise for one.

Hi David,
I haven't asked anyone to DPL the work yet. If you can advertise a PL for the project, that'll be brilliant.
Thank you very much.

David,
Is there any way you can help me obtain the Checker software? It seems that the source website is either down or blocked for some reason by my internet provider.
I used to have one in my old laptop but now, I can't download one for my new one.
Thank you.

Regards,
Mary

I placed a ~ before the book title in the subject line. That likely will be enough to get someone to offer to PL. The Checker site is sometimes down for periods of time. It is up right now so please try again to access it.

Hello all! I will have to relinquish my duties as DPL since I do not have enough time to PL and keep up with school.

Thanks for understanding,

Elsie
