Hello!

My name is Luke and by some horrible fate you got stuck with me for your 1 min test. I'm sorry.

I have a few changes for you to make before I can mark this test as ok.

1) 1) Volume: We need 86-92dB with 89dB being ideal. Your at 82.5 (so close!) this is what we need to do
Select the whole file in audacity
Go to effects>amplify
Type 7 in the top box
Hit apply

(You may want to turn up the mic slider in the future so that you don't have to do this every time)

2) Noise Reduction: Next up lets reduce your noise. It was at 40 but now it is at 47 (which is quite loud)
Select a small amount of your file with no talking in it
Go to effect>noise reduction
Click learn
After that go back and select the whole file
Head back over to that Noise Reduction page
Click apply

NICE! So now you have a file that sounds amazing: 3 more quick things (these will all be fixed in the export menu

1) Change the Bit Rate selector to CONSTANT (you are using the default of VARIABLE)
2) You will see a grayed out bot become clickable-change the BIT RATE to 128kbps
3) Click the force mixdown to mono button.

After that reupload the test and post the link here so I'll have another look

Hello Luke!

Thank you very much for your guidance to set up the specifications.
I hope I fixed everything in this file: https://librivox.org/uploads/tests/test_lagom.mp3

Did you amplify? the volume is the same as before. Everything else looks great!

Go ahead and re amplify and then re noise reduce after that upload the file and I'll be back!

I typed 7 in the top box, but I couldn't find the apply button.
So I typed 89 at the top box that says "Amplification [dB] and check "allow clipping" and save the file.
Here's the updated recording:

Thanks Luke :)
