OK ... for the next sections .... I'll just correct the mistakes  Sorry Sara!

I re-corded it, because I wanted the reading to be homogeneous.

Thanks availle,

It's okay Aida, it was a relatively short section.

I totally understand that! :D
Don't worry too much about audible edits. First of all, we're not looking for perfection here, and second, you'll get the hang of it eventually. Thing is, the more you edit the better you'll get at it, so it's a good idea to start as soon as possible!
Cheers, Ava.

Hey Aïda,
That's okay! I was just like you when I first started on LV. I always listen to the recording before uploading it and if I found any mistakes I re-record the whole track. I also re-record and re-upload a poem. So, you see we are similar.

But as the sections get longer it became both frustrating and time-consuming.

Here's what I do with my recording.
  • If I made a mistake while recording, I snap my fingers to create spikes in the audio. So, when I edit the track I know this is the mistake. You can see it in this video (https://www.twitch.tv/videos/317540464) at 00:06:50
  • Once I finish the recording, I save it as FLAC. So, the audio quality won't be affected by editing (especially, if I couldn't finish it in one sitting). And once I finish, I export it as FLAC and then as MP3.
  • If I found a mistake while PLing my sections, I just open a New file in Audacity. And what I do is to record the whole sentence where I mispronounced a word. So, it won't be noticeable that I edited that part.
I'm would like to apologize. I'll be late PLing your sections. I'm busy with work this week.

Have a nice day!
Thanks, SaraHale. :D

Hello Aïda,

I've listened to Section 2. You did very well.

Three minor PL notes.

@03m:25.713s فقال له: اني اريد ان تسافر معي الى الصيد والقنص لعله ينشرح خاطرك فأبى ذلك.
@03m:58.313s قال في نفسه ان بليتي اخف من هذه البلية
@05m:35.620s القنص

You'll need to change the bolded words. I didn't know how to explain it so I've recorded the above two sentences for you.

Hey Aïda,

Chapters 1, 3, and 4 are PL OK

I'm happy to work with you as well!! :9: Don't worry about it. I, too, get confused with the Arabic words. I just try to guess the word from the context if it isn't accentuated. You're doing an AWESOME job with the recording.

If you don't mind, what's your nationality?

Since you are recording Arabian Nights, do you know Alf Leila We Leila by Umm Kulthum? (https://youtu.be/ul4z6sLnXYY) I love it, especially the first 8 instrumental intro of the song.

Have an AWESOME day!!

The beauty of the stories "Arabian nights" (content and structure) is sublime. I take great pleasure in reading them .....

Oum Kalthoum (كوكبة الشرق): I love it!

Also, based on the stories of "Arabian nights" a symphonic suite was composed by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov (Russian) in 1888:

Likewise, stunning Scheherazade ballet: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=Scheherazade%2Bballet

Otherwise, I was born in Algeria, I studied in Paris and since 2007 I live and work in Canada. You, Sara, I guess Egyptian!

Have a good day :D ,
