The Governess; Or, The Little Female Academy by Sarah Fielding (1710 - 1768).

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/the-governess-or-the-little-female-academy-by-sarah-fielding/

The Governess, or The Little Female Academy (published 1749) by Sarah Fielding is the first full-length novel written for children, and a significant work of 18th-century children's literature. (Wikipedia) It's about a boarding school for girls and its students. On each day, a story or part of a story is read aloud to the girls. Then Mrs. Teachum, who runs the school, explains the lesson to be taken from each reading. ( mlcui)
  • Text source (only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/1905
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Still looking for a DPL? Looks like an interesting project, I may enjoy doing this :)
Be warned though, I'm new to this, so I'm still learning what to point out as something to fix.

Do you like for me to run your files through the checker? Chapter 4 is at 91.8 dB, but the rest are all 92.4 - 93. Otherwise Introduction is PL OK.

I'm not sure about that, actually.
If you think the volume is too loud (or too soft) for comfort,
then I could fiddle with the amplification some.
Otherwise, as long as the reading is clear, then maybe it's alright (???)
