Thank you! Very happy to have a chance to read a story set in my old neighborhood. I used to live on the northern edge of the Great Dismal Swamp, have hiked through it to Lake Drummond and driven my boat down the canal. The canal and many of the logging ditches were laid out by one of its original owners, a young surveyor named George Washington.

I know him! Even been to his house. But until this book I had never heard of the Great Dismal Swamp, and until your email didn't realize it is so huge. I read up on it on Wikipedia. Fascinating! The pictures of it look just like our Atchafalaya River swamps, but so far I haven't run across any mention in the book of our favorite food from there -- crawfish!

There are a couple of places which deserve your attention.

8:00 heard "insignia OF circumstances of position"
should be "insignia AND circumstances of position"

Duplication:

First appears at [8:04] and again at [8:22]

Chapter 30 edits made. Thanks. I can't believe I missed one of Tiff's "Laws, Miss Nina's!", I love saying that, and was happy I could add in the laugh.

Aha! Finally Dred's back story! And Stowe weaves Dred's father, a real character of historical significance, into her fictional character's family history, so skillfully that I believed every word of it. So many good lines, too, and soulfully read. Thank you!!!!! Just a few things I noticed:

22:07 giving a Hebraistic coloring, you say Hebraic. Not sure it matters.
23:22 slight stumble in "and strange hieroglyphics would be written upon the leaves". Wouldn't mention if it were the only item.
23:27 he would pursue, you say peruse . . . . game.

Hebraistic is a strange concoction, and Hebraic is the adjectival form I've always heard, and I didn't really notice the stumble mentioned, but all are recorded and in their proper place. Now to puruse and pursue my next section.
