[COMPLETE] London Labour etc., Vol 1 -Mayhew-ans
Peter,
I'm getting "This type of audio file isn't supported." when I try to listen.

That's odd; I checked my original file, then tried Listen on the MW link, and it worked. You may have caught it before it had settled down properly on the server. Please try again; if it fails again, I'll re-upload.

Thanks, Gill.
How on earth could that man have remembered all the people who had paid the odd shilling per year?
I've uploaded section 71, which runs from "There was a blind woman of his acquaintance ...", about half way down column 1, pdf 447-452 / text 402-407
Total so far, approx. 43:21:27
Section 72 runs from Of the Low Lodging Houses, col 1, p 407

That was maybe one of his longest interviews over several days! Mayhew has a knack for getting the details.
There was something else in that section I meant to ask you about but I can't remember now.
I remember now! p398 in Section 70:
Since the small pox vaccination was introduced, he says the cases of blindness due to it have "considerably increased" when he obviously means "decreased". Not for you to change - it's his error - just a strange one to miss! Hopefully all the readers/listeners will work out what he meant and not think he was being sarcastic, saying, "Oh, that was a very clever thing - very"!

Thanks, Gill,
I'd forgotten that comment about smallpox vaccination. I noticed the oddity when I was recording but didn't think about it as clearly as you did. You're right; Mayhew's slip-up.

PL for Section 72:
Just a few things, or you could leave as is.
27:10 noise on "now" in "as I can now” p411 coL 1 LINE 12
27:58 'crunching' noise before “One I wore round my neck” p411 Col 1 about halfway
28:13 Missing “I’ve heard” – can be left
31:12 "as a man" said for “as a man’s” [purse] Col 2 about halfway - could be left with a difference in meaning.

Thanks, Gill; I'll correct all of these in a day or two. I have a sore throat and inflamed sinuses at the moment, so I wouldn't be able to get a voice match.
