Did you mean us to record the Section number or the Chapter number for our recordings? I know some BC's have us record Chapter numbers as they match the Section numbers however in this case they do not and I am wondering if instead of Chapter you want us to say Section???

I hope I have not confused you...

Regards, the lovely Lynda :)
Lynda, I did indeed make a mistake. Should have said Section 1 instead of Chapter 1 and I'll fix it and upload again.

This is an example of setting up a project and not getting it quite right. Sloppy actually. I could have eliminated a lot of fuzziness by adhering to the actual chapters of the book but decided to start with the poem as section 1. Anyway, I do indeed wish people to use Section and not Chapter when they read the stories so that the file names will match. It is kinda late now, but I will fix the first post to reflect that.

This is an excellent lesson about setting up a project that may have several introductory parts; try to make them as non-confusing as possible and then spell out plainly in the first post exactly the format to use. It takes more time, but is worth it. :D Learn from my mistakes, eh?

EDIT: Since some sections have been recorded, some people may say chapters instead of sections at the beginning. If they say chapter but use the correct section number, let it go. The section number is the important thing. If it is something else, post it and we will make a decision. Sorry for the extra work.

Laughing Boy - Johnny - I am curious, what was the difficulty with reading this section? Was it the pronunciation or the pacing or somet hing else?
And the editing took an entire day? whew! that is way too much time. What as the problem? perhaps we can help shorten the process. As i said, just curious because I like to make videos about ways to solve problems and make recording easier and am always looking for more to make.Image

Dudes!

I was just having a laugh!

(I assume that you are familiar with the concept! )

YES!!!! It DID take me a [whole] day to edit - because I am such a [obscenity removed]!

I am sure that many people find it entirely natural to read stories aloud - BIG respect! - but as
I have no children of my own - I find that society tends to frown on people reading stories 'aloud'
to nobody. (As a matter of fact.. I have personally spent a night in a padded cell for doing just that...)

The police men and women were extremely polite - although I was never entirely sure why I had been detained -
but apparently it took six big [officers] to restrain me - but I have no memory of that, and therefore cannot vouchsafe
for the authenticity of this statement.

If I am doing ANYTHING that is unnacceptable - just [obscenity removed] tell me - and I shall modify my my behavior.

Are we clear?

Johnny - your reading is PL OK. You did use the word Chapter which we changed to Section, however as you already recorded it Phil said it is okay.

Congrats on your PL OK, obviously you are doing a lot right.
and since you asked, I am indeed telling you to stop using the obscene word stuff in LibriVox. This is a wonderful little niche of the universe where we converse without profanity, even the expurgated kind. The whole world may indeed speak like that, but here, where all ages, nationalities and temperaments mingle and help each other, we prefer people to use adjectives like 'difficult' "perplexing' 'obnoxious' or 'awesome'.

Hello Phil,

I no longer hsve any desire to be involved with this project.
It is a truly lovely series of stories
- but I do not feel welcome...

Please reasign any chapters that I may have claimed - and remove my read of
'Little Laughing Boy".

[Thank] you very much.

Sorry you feel that way Johnny. Remember You say
If I am doing ANYTHING that is unnacceptable - just [] tell me - and I shall modify my my behavior.
. Apparently this is behavior you do not wish to modify. I will remove your claims but not remove your uploaded chapter yet in case you change your mind. Remember, you are very welcome here, we just don't use profanity or obscenities and don't allow those who do. If you decide in a week or so that you would like your story to remain for the world to hear, just post in this forum. If you want to continue being a part of our community nothing is required but for you to refrain from that language. I wish you nothing but happiness and a wonderful life. Hope you rethink it and stay with us.

Thanks Matey, That is lovely to hear!

Please delete my read. I am sure that somebody else will enjoy doing it nearly as much as I did!
