Essays on race

Would a collection of essays on race be welcomed here? I'm thinking of demonstrating the subtle racism of the late 19th Century when being German, for instance, was considered belonging to the Germanic race. Also, the rather insidious growth of 'scientific' ideas of race demonstrated by the Social Darwinists. The counterpart, of course, would be explored where ideas of equality were first propounded.
