The Lost Parchment by Fergus Hume (1859 - 1932).

All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/the-lost-parchment-by-fergus-hume/
Murder and mayhem turn a quiet English village on its head. Complete with twists and turns that will keep you entertained til the very end. Fergus Hume never fails. (Summary by Sharon Kilmer)
  • Text source (only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/files/55956/55956-h/55956-h.htm
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Looks like I'm a little late to see this new project.

I've just downloaded section 1 and I'll be back later with PL notes!

Betty

Edit! Section 1 is PL OK! Great descriptions of those characters.

Hi,
I've PL'ed section 2 and there's one small difference you may want to check:

at 5:07 heard “answering” in “…I'm smartened for the afternoon," she cried, volubly addressing Rupert; "but washing has to be done,.."

Let me know if you want to change that. Everything else is terrific.

Chapter 3 is ready for review! Sorry I haven't been more active. Allergies and illness but I believe I am on the mend.
Hope you are well also.

Thank you!
