I've been asked to make a tutorial for this procedure but, sadly, I don't use it. So where are the videos on how to do this now that Audacity has it built in. Thanks.

I don't use punch and roll, either, but mightyfelix demonstrated it in a Twitch video: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/396441804

Oh, thank you, Peter! When I saw the title of this thread, I was going to provide a link to my video, but you've done it for me! :9:

I've been using Punch and Roll for a few months now, and it has greatly reduced my editing time, without significantly increasing my recording time. I think it's a wonderful feature. If you prefer to have multiple takes of a phrase and then choose between them afterwards, it wouldn't help, but it's great for cutting out obvious errors on the front end.

If I recall, my video was a bit long, because I was doing an interactive demonstration. I also demonstrated the use of macros in Audacity. If there is interest, I can make another video which would be more short and to the point, just on Punch and Roll.

You bet we are interested! A video dedicated to just this process would be an excellent addition. Who knows, I may start using it myself. So please do make one if you have time.

Well, it looks like Twitch, which I've used for my live videos, will no longer allow me to upload pre-recorded videos, so that's kinda silly. Anyway, I have an old dusty forgotten YouTube account, and I was able to put it up there.

(Sorry for the awful picture quality. I don't know what happened there. Hopefully you can still see what's going on. :? )

Ugh no, sorry. This is a new and different process for me, and I'm trying to figure out how to do it. Stand by...

EDIT: I've made the needed changes, including, I think, improved video quality. But YouTube says it will take a few hours to take effect. So expect a link in the morning.
