All is fine but the volume should go up about + 2,4 db - please change this and upload again and I'll give you a 'Ok' ;-)

Here is the corrected version:
https://librivox.org/uploads/rapunzelina/ghohor034_shrineofdeath_dilke_ljb_128kb.mp3

Text: https://archive.org/details/shrineofdeathand00dilk/page/n7
Author: Lady Dilke
Title: "The Shrine of Death"
Duration: 14:50

I hope this works (I'll thread that needle eventually) ...LJB
Ups - that was too much :hmm: Now Replay Gain says to go down about - 5,3 db. I've done this and uploaded it again so I say

PL:OK
Well!
I guess that needle is more elusive than I thought.
Thanks very much for fixing it.

I think you've trying to change it in the wrong place - look at the description in the picture:

Image

Fill into the 'Amplication'-field what 'Replay Gain' in the 'Analyse'-menu tells you to do - so if it says - 2,7 db so fill exactly that in including the '-' (minus) sign, + if it has to be louder. The file is then automatically adjusted to the 'perfect line' of 89 db. Take notice that the whole file is marked when adjusting the volume.

Ah.
Same general place, but more to the point and a bit demystified now.
This should make it right going forward.
(but note: I have already uploaded/posted "The Mezzotint" and "Lost in a Pyramid," so "going forward" means not including these two...)
Thank you...LJB

I read Banshees by Elliott O'Donnell:

https://librivox.org/uploads/rapunzelina/ghohor034_banshees_odonnell_ss_128kb.mp3
The file is 10 minutes, 45 seconds.
Listing me as "Caesura" in the Librivox catalogue is fine with me; let me know if you need any other information.

Thanks!

leknarf wrote: June 22nd, 2019, 7:06 pm Hi Rapunzelina,

I just uploaded my reading of Saki's "The Background." Here's the link:
https://librivox.org/uploads/rapunzelina/ghohor034_background_saki_smf_128kb.mp3
TRT: 8:46s

I hope this counts as a horror story (seems like it to me). I found it through the link you suggested, on classichorrorstories.com:
http://www.classichorrorstories.com/texts/bkground.txt

My user name is leknarf

Thanks!
