It's really surprising to me in editing my own work how many word skips or misreadings I glide right over on the first pass and catch on the second and I'm very sure that in the non-word-perfect PLs, so many are never caught (tho it doesn't really matter with non-word-perfect, as long as the result is listenable and changes are minor and don't change the overall meaning at all).

It's hard to do word perfect! In editing as well, especially since you've already been over the thing once and the prose is dense legalese, the mind does want to wander or assume that you are really seeing the words your brain thought you saw on the text. PL-ing is slow too, I have to take a lot of breaks to make sure my mind isn't wandering off too much.

I'm very impressed with everyone who is taking up the challenge of producing these court decision readings. These are all pretty significant cases so I'm sure they are assigned readings in different courses in high schools, colleges and grad schools and I know that people who find reading them challenging will appreciate having these out there. It's challenging prose to begin with and the word perfect requirement, the editing out of citations on the fly as you read, and the remembering he "quote/end of quote" and footnote insertions -- it's a high level project to be sure.

I have a niece and several friends who are smart, excellent and driven students and who enjoy reading but find it really hard due to various information processing disabilities like dyslexia. They find audio recordings invaluable -- I always think of those students when working on Librivox projects. I'm sure it's really exciting to find that there is an audio (non-robot-voice even) version of an obscure work that the person thinks, no way is there an audiobook of this -- and then on top of that it's free! I love being a part of making that happen.

Just also wanted to add that in a non-word-perfect PL format I would have skipped over the majority of these as the meaning does not seem to be essentially changed. It does feel extra picky and I don't want you or anyone to feel bad because minor changes happen always and it's not a big deal at all!
