I did not run any sort of effects on it, mostly because I was not certain where to begin and Audacity has a dizzying array of them. If there is anything that I need to do to the file, please let me know. Thank you!

Thanks, Chad! Let's wait for our PLer's reply. :)

PL notes:
Hi Chad,
1-your volume is slightly low at 85.4 dB; the target range is (86–92 dB).
This can be increased in Audacity effect "Amplify".

2-Please include "Selected works" at the beginning of your recording
00:27 Selected works by William Ellery Channing

3-Slight editing (snip)...Please remove "End of Library of the World's Best Literature, Ancient and Modern, volume 9. " This is only used in the last section of this project.
24:41 "End of Library of the World's Best Literature, Ancient and Modern, volume 9. "

Most important Note: You have a wonderful style and reading voice. :D

May I claim Section 37?

Also, I previously did not know this, but Arthur Hugh Clough is said to have been a devoted assistant to Florence Nightingale.

Many thanks,
