-okay to omit the abbreviation Linn.

-ending silences do need to be changed to about 5 seconds.

To All readers:

I thought you might be interested in this note, In regard to the abbreviation, Linn.

Personally, I had never encountered this is these scientific Latin names. I had to look it up, and it stands for (Carl) Linnaeus
(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carl_Linnaeus) who developed this naming system, or taxonomy, which was incorporated into the early Gardner's Dictionary. The best choice would be to read it as "Linnaeus" but it is okay to read it as "Linn," or just to omit it. Any of these options are fine since I did not have the foresight to do the research and specify how to read the abbreviation at the beginning.

I've enjoyed your narration. You have a pleasant and clear voice. As for pronunciation, they sounded correct to me. Personally, I use the following to check the pronunciation (since English is my second language) Howjsay, Google Translate, and Dictation (I use it to test my pronunciation ).

Miss this paragraph:

Cultivation.—Balm is readily propagated by means of divisions, layers, cuttings, and by its seeds, which germinate fairly well even when four years old. Owing to its small size, the seed should be planted in a seedpan or flat in a greenhouse or hotbed, where all conditions can be controlled. The soil should be made very fine and friable, the thinly scattered seeds merely pressed upon the surface with a block or a brick, and water applied preferably through the bottom of the seedpan, which may be set in a shallow dish of water until the surface of the soil begins to appear moist.
