Does it give you an error message? What does it say?
(Shot in the dark: if you added any metadata to it, remove it. Sometimes the uploader gets extra sensitive and doesn't like files with metadata.)

If you`ve made certain not to add metadata to the file when converting to an .mp3 file, then perhaps there is a problem with your file name. (I`m only shooting in the dark here.) What is your file name?

Okay. Let's try this. When you export the Audacity file to .mp3, call it test_[whatever your name is]. Mine, for instance, would be test_kevins. Don't use anything but lowercase letters, no spaces, and only '_' marks. (I don't know what to call them.) Don't label anything .mps because the export process will add this for you. Okay? This should get through the uploader.
You have the uploader open, it seems. I had a devil of a time understanding how to open it when I got started some months ago.

So, if I remember correctly, your export function will create a file wherever you have it placed called something like test_7a2c3mi.mp3. This will be the file you'll upload.
I wonder if the uploader has trouble with numerals? If that's the case, you'll want to create a file called test_herberth.mp3 or something.

And don't despair. We have plenty of people here who know what they are doing! There are even videos to help with many topics.

No, it doesn't. Remember that file names have numbers in them.

Filetype error usually means the metadata.
So don't put anything in for artist name, track title, album title, etc. - leave all of those blank.
Do me a favor, please. Go to http://ge.tt and drop the file you're trying to upload in there. Then come back here and post the web address it gives you.
That way we can look at your file to be sure it is an MP3, and that it really is the metadata that is the problem.

I tried yet again. I avoided all metadata, as one of you suggested. For my "filename" on the MP3, as another of you suggested, I used no numbers. When it came to uploading, however, I got the same message as previously, "Error. The file type you are attempting to upload is not allowed"
My name is Mark
