If you would like to read the intro/outro in Mandarin, that would be fine. Here is what we have used in the past - but if this is not a good translation, please feel free to adjust it as necessary:

For a solo project, you are the Book Coordinator. That means you fill out the Magic Window and post your links and times in the window when you upload your files.

You'll need to start by logging into the magic window. Instructions are in the BC How-to; and this is a more detailed version of the First Login instructions (with pictures!) Please be sure to read all of the BC How To document, as that will give you more information on your role as a BC.

Next, you'll need to start entering section (or chapter) titles. I've entered the first couple to get you started.

Then you are ready to start recording. When you upload a section, it's your responsibility to add the link and duration (mm:ss) to the Magic Window. Link from the uploader goes in the "listen URL" column, duration goes in the "notes" column. Then be sure to post in the thread that a new section is ready for PL so your DPL knows there is something new.

If you have questions, or if you have any trouble with the instructions in the BC how to, please post and we'll work through it together.

Also, is "Wandering" a good title for this book? Gutenberg is down for me, so I can't check how they cataloged the book. We should have our book name match what Gutenberg used.

Unfortunately, we don't use special characters in file names, so we will need an English translation for file names and the catalog record.

Hello, MaryAnn,

Thanks for the handholding, which I do need! Let me take some time to go through your instructions, so bear with me.

But, first, on the English title for the book, I tried to check Gutenberg, but I can't seem to find any English title there. I'm not sure if it's because I'm not familiar with how to access that on the site. Could you please check too? If there's none, I guess we can stay with what's listed. These 2 characters basically describe someone being perplexed or his quandary.

Hello, Lucas, I welcome your offer. I'd like to check with MaryAnn first. For some reason, I thought I saw someone offering to be the DPL when I first picked this up from the abandoned project list. So, let's confirm first. Regardless, your offer is encouraging to me!

ManyAnn, is DPL already assigned? Also, I am a bit "Pang huang" about the ebook downloaded from the Gutenberg site. Strangely, it only has 8 stories, instead of 11 like the other version I found or what's listed in Wikipedia(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lu_Xun). I suspect that the Gutenberg version is flawed, especially considering the many wrong or missing characters(shown as an unreadable code )I encountered while recording the first story. What's the SOP in Librivox for handling this sort of situation? Since I'm not familiar with being my own PC, please do not hesitate to point out what I must catch up on in the magic window. Thanks.

Have you found another edition which is clearly published before 1924? The previous reader for this book planned to read from here: http://www.xys.org/xys/classics/Lu-Xun/Panghuang/

I'm not sure the xys.org source has 11 stories, but I don't think it will work for us because I can't verify the date this edition was published.

I've already added Aleithia as the DPL (that's something the MC needs to do) and sent her a PM so she can find the project thread.

I don't know of anyone in particular we reach out to at Gutenberg.

Here's what I've able to find and I'll have to leave the determination on go/no-go or how to proceed to you experts.

Pang Huang is a collection of 11 short stories. Among them, 9 stories were first published respectively in newspapers or magazines at various times, with 4 in 1924, 4 in 1925 and 1 in 1926. It seems that there are 2 stories that were never published first, but collected into this book called Pang Huang, which, according to Baidu's search engine, was first published by the BeiXin Book Bureau in August 1926.

I uploaded the first story and set the status to READY for PL yesterday.

Gutenberg indicates that their e-book is from a source that is public domain in the US (see http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/24042)

We know that Gutenberg carefully researches PD status before they post any material, so we trust them.

I would say that you are cleared to read the stories in the Gutenberg collection. If Gutenberg left them out, it is probably because they couldn't verify the PD status of particular stories.
