Just one thing: I'm claiming the role of the narrator in The Purloined Letter for myself. :-)

EDIT: I also went ahead and recorded this. No need to PL or anything until the final edit... just wanted to get this done so I can start work on other projects.

That's very kind of you! Ta! (Although it may be a while...)

Anyways, my computer is playing the game again - poor dear just needed a night off!

So - I'm not entirely sure where to post the read, so I have stuck it in 'test' for the mo'.

I think I've got the naming protocol right - please correct me if I am wrong.

As to the read itself - I have never done one of these before. I just read out the bits for
Dr. Watson, and tried to leave an appropriate space so that each 'sound bite' can be addressed
individually. Please feel free to 'cut and paste' as appropriate.

If you spot any mistakes or flubbs, please don't hesitate to mention them - so that I can fix 'em!

(Unlike the majority of Folks - I don't actually have a life... This leaves me with oodles of time
for hobbies!)

...I try to be a 'glass half full' kind of chap!

Hi Johnny/Andrew!

You should upload your file into Todd's folder, since he's the MC of this project. I noticed it's not on the first page, but the typical format for parts is:

For individual roles, use file name:
titleinoneword_charactername_aurthorsurname.mp3 (all lower-case)
e.g. punchandgo_electrics_galsworthy.mp3

So your file should look like this after uploading:
https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/adventureofthedyingdetective_watson_conandoyle.mp3

Thanks!

All the information about the naming protocols is in the first post.

However, I've got the file now and as it looks like I'll be editing it myself, never mind about reup-loading unless there are corrections.

The MC is ToddHW, as given in the title of the collection.

Thank you very much for the advice, TJ!

I am, as I write, in the process of posting the corrected file!

As far as the username goes - I have been a Rowan Atkinson fan since
'Not the Nine o'clock News' first aired - when 'Channel Four' was launched.
(That's a Brit thing - we only had three channels before that! )

I like 'Mr. Bean', and 'Blackadder', but the 'Johnny English' character cracks me up every time
I see him! (He can dance! He can jive!)

Check it out!

Ah! Just spotted this before 're-uploading'! If you are okay with doing all the fiddly bits yourself - nil problemo!

However, please be aware that I am happy to re-record any bits that you feel may require a little more attention!

PS: Just for future reference - am I supposed to 'edit' my stuff before I send it? Given that I don't actually know
what everyone else is going to do?

I honestly don't mind. As I beleive I mentioned previously - I've never done one of these before...
I am more than happy to follow whatever protocols are required. (If somebody would just take the time to tell me
what they are!)

Here are the dates for Edward P. Roe (1838–1888). He is already in the LV Catalog.
Everything looks great, :D ...and thanks.

Hi Lucas, I was just reading your script (I'm thinking of reading the role of Minnie for you) and I noticed that at the bottom of page 3, after Minnie says "A Velveteen coat and no hat" the same line is repeated by another cabman. I think you will need to create another colour for this cabman, unless you want to double the role with one of the other cabmen - I think there are about four of them in total.

Also, in the very last line of the script I would suggest inserting a dash to indicate that the speaker breaks off and then changes his mind. IF it is read as one line it will sound like "Mrs Oh very well." Instead of Mrs ___ Oh, very well.
