Hi Courtney, Welcome to LibriVox and to the Nonfiction Collection! We're pleased that you have chosen the nonfiction collection for your first recording. You have a clear and pleasing reading voice. I've entered your selection in the Magic Window, and our dedicated proof listener (DPL), Craig, will proof listen (PL) your selection.cslucter wrote: ↑May 30th, 2019, 6:24 pm The Mind and Its Education

Would you please tell us how you want your name listed in the catalog? You can use your forum name, or your real name. Thank you.
Best wishes,

That was very informative for a book written in 1906. Perhaps you should include the date in the recordign or title.
I found only one reading error.
26:38 The nature of these different elements in our mental stream, their relation to each other, and the manner in which they all work together in amazing perplexity yet in perfect harmony to produce the wonderful mind, will constitute the subject-matter we shall consider together in the pages which follow. – forgot to read each
Your reading does have a good number of clicks and puffs but that's alright for a beginner
You might want to go and look at our editing audio section.
https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Editing_Audio
This whole book is currenlty being read into LibriVox incase you want to follow along with it
The Mind and Its Education by George Herbert Betts (1868 - 1934)

It seems they forget this author when they discuss stream of consciousness

Hi Craig,
Thanks so much for the feedback. I will correct the errors and read the audio editing section. I really enjoyed the process and am excited to do more. When I correct the reading mistake, should I post a new MP3 the same way that I did the initial one? Or is there a different process for reposting?
Thanks again,
Courtney

Yes, the new corrected recording should have the exact same name as the old recording, your computer will say "there is a file with that name, do you want to replace it" and you should choose yes. Then you won't have two files on your computer. When I correct the reading mistake, should I post a new MP3 the same way that I did the initial one? Or is there a different process for reposting?

Hi Dale, Thanks for this! Before I enter it in the Magic Window, I need a bit of help with your source. The e-book you've listed as your source (Humorous Masterpieces from American Literature) doesn't seem correct. The only essay I see in that book by Dudley Warner is "Garden Ethics." In your read, you seem to say the title of the book is "Humorous Masterpieces for [not from] American Literature. Could you please check your source and get back to us?Grothmann wrote: ↑May 31st, 2019, 7:52 pm Hello everyone --

Many thanks,
Hi Sue.
For some reason, "the Plumber" isn't listed in the table of contents, it is directly beneath Garden Ethics. I don't know why, but I am not the editor. The exact location is
http://www.gutenberg.org/files/15585/15585-h/15585-h.htm#GARDEN_ETHICS
The volume is
HUMOROUS MASTERPIECES
FROM
AMERICAN LITERATURE
EDITED BY
EDWARD T. MASON
It is also listed at:
Bartleby.com
but under the title "Plumbers"
https://www.bartleby.com/380/prose/102.html
Thanks

June 2, 2019 In my capacity as Book Coordinator, I have removed the selection "Original Rough Draft of the Declaration of Independence" from the Magic Window. The following PM was sent to the reader, headandheart:
"As of 6/2/2019, there has been no response from you addressing concerns voiced by myself, the Book Coordinator, about the source from which you read this selection. Neither have you responded to the PM I sent you on May 4, 2019. Therefore, in accordance with the posted rules for proof listening and deadline for edits of the Nonfiction Collection (Rule #5), I am removing your selection until we hear back from you. Once concerns about your reading have been addressed, it will be welcome in a future volume of the Short Nonfiction Collection."
