Just on the edge of what we accept. So it is PL OK!

I would highly suggest to try getting the volume up at input/when you are recording so that you don't have to amplify it so much.

I was wondering if I can have my chapter removed? I didn’t do my best and I don’t want it to be just barely what you accept. I want to just keep practicing with sound to get it right in the sound volume instead of submitting something that is barely up to what you accept. I don’t want to bring the book quality down by having a bad chapter in there.

Do you want to redo the chapter? If not, I would prefer not to remove it. There is nothing wrong with it - you did a good job! I can work on the file and probably get the volume up some more. I could have done that to begin with, but it is better if the reader learns how to fix the issues themselves.

The volume is better for the initial file, but still a little low at 84.3 DB. Can you try to get it up a little more?

If you download a program called checker, which was made to check the tech specs for Librivox files, it will tell you if your volume passes. You can find it here: https://cgjennings.ca/checker.html

Or there is a program called mp3 gain that will tell you the volume as well.

Everything is great except 13:10 there is a longish pause with a thump in the middle of it.
