Just stumbled across this this morning (while looking for something else, as usual) and thought it would make a fun project to do at some point here...

It's a drawing instruction book (mostly text, with a few illustrations) but the fun part is that it's written as a dialogue between Mamma, Ellen and Charlotte, basically talking each other through various techniques. So it would be interesting to do as a project where different people take the different parts, or as a straightforward group project.

Hello Colleen,
This is charming!
If it is taken up as a new project, I'd love to read the part of Charlotte.
Thank you...LJB

This sounds like fun - great find Colleen!

I'm game - I'll set this up. Haven't done anything crazy in a while anyway...

I'll be editing, but I'll need PLers for parts and complete files.
Cheers,
Ava.

Okay, I've set this up here: viewtopic.php?f=27&t=75860

You're still up for reading Charlotte? It's the largest part!
Cheers,
Ava.

Wow, that was fast!
I am up for Charlotte. :D
So how does this work, logistically?
Do I just read Charlotte's lines? (taking each chapter where she appears, in order, of course)
And whoever takes Mamma or Ellen reads her own lines?
And then the Almighty BC weaves them all together?

Well, essentially yes (except for the "almighty BC" part, but let's get to that in a moment :D ).

You read all your lines in a single chapter into one file. Best to start off the file with something like "Mezzotinting - lesson 1. Charlotte read by maxgal/Louise" (or however you show up in the catalog).
Leave enough space between your parts - where other people are speaking - usually 5 seconds or so are enough, it makes the editor's life easier.

When all lines for one chapter are in, the editor puts everything together and uploads the final file. Then we PL the final file as usual.

In large DRs, there can be several editors, because it's a bear of a job, really, but this one I "think" I can handle on my own, since it's mostly just Charlotte and Ellen speaking anyway.

All clear? :D Please post over in the DR thread, so we have a "proper" record, because this thread will be deleted at some point.
Cheers,
Ava.

O -- I just found it!
In my defense: I was misled by seeing "dramatic works" instead of "dramatic readings"...
