Sonia, I listened to your recordings and can say they are PL OK! I like how you conveyed Overdone's flirtatious nature in her first scene with her terror at being arrested later on. Her confident nature takes quite a turn.

The narration is great, too. You're very lucky this play isn't filled with them (except for all those annoying "Lucio, aside to Isabella" ones). :P There's only one optional correction that you may want to make:

Act 1, scene iv: Missing "Lucio (within)."

I'm not sure if that omission was deliberate. I thought it might be good to distinguish Brad's voice as Lucio's here. But he's introduced soon after in a stage direction, so maybe it's not needed. It's up to you.

It has occurred to me that I'm playing BOTH of the men who are whispering asides in II,ii. It's a good thing I'm planning on different voices.

no that wasn't deliberate, I really forgot to highlight this part in my prepared reading sheet. :? Thanks for the listen ! I inserted it now, just in case we need it. You're right, I think it's better to say it. (though with the many "Lucio asides" I'm not so sure  )

I just discovered a small omission in the MW. The Provost has one line early in 2_1.

Thanks for the edit, Sonia! Now all your narration is definitely PL OK.

Good catch regarding the Provost line, Brad. I missed it in my prep work. I'll add your files to the MW for Sonia to check.

so far the Provost is PL ok. :) He seems like a nicer character, unfortunately he has not as much to decide as Angelo. :? He would have shown mercy more readily.

Thanks

here is the very soft-spoken Mariana. I definitely tried to make her much softer than Isabella later on, but not as "stupidly meek" as Juliet. Let's hope it shines through enough to differentiate.

Hamlet wrote: April 23rd, 2019, 7:40 am Well, it's Shakespeare's birthday, so that is as good an excuse as any to finish the Provost's scenes.
I really, really like the Provost. He sounds like a genuine nice guy, and feels remorse about the job he has to do. Nicely done, Brad. All parts PL ok. :)

And belated happy birthday, Will :birthday:

All I have left is Lucio, but it looks like work will be keeping me very busy until at least Sunday. So I'll be taking a break from the project until then.

No worries, Brad. We're still a long way's from finishing, so you still have plenty of time.
