Question: my role (Lily) has a song in Act 1 ("I've a very charming dwelling ..."), should I
a) sing this to an existing melody
b) sing this to a made up melody
c) not sing, but read it?

I prefer "c" - just read it.

Sorry - didn't want this to get lost - as I noticed they weren't in the MW yet. Thanks!aaronwhite1977 wrote: ↑April 16th, 2019, 12:36 pm Hey all - Cranking them out this week!
Here is Sam de Castro - I have also recorded "men" and "others" when they arose in the script.

Speaking with a lisp was harder than I thought it would be. I often had to repeat the line 3 or 4 times til I could get it right. Please let me know if any of it is too difficult to understand.
Thanks
Aaron
Thank you.

Todd, I finished Jimmie Birch just now (and had fun doing that). I love playing the tough "best buddy".

No hurry at all. I have stuff that's been waiting way way longer for PL! (shhh - I've got one that's been sitting around since March 20! ) I don't mind. I just didn't want it to get lost, off the chart.
none of my projects though, I hope ! I try to give feedback at the latest after a day or two. Usually try to finish all my jobs the same day.aaronwhite1977 wrote: ↑April 19th, 2019, 8:46 am

In any case....Sam de Castro is a hoot Why does he remind me of a character from the Loony Tunes ? There was one who had a pronounced lisp, wasn't there ? I can't remember which one though.
Brilliant job, I bet it must have been hard to keep that up. I personally never try to do a lisp because I know I won't sound convincing. You did a great job here. There was only once where you lost the lisp when you said "Goddess" but that's gonna be spoken in chorus, so it won't get noticed
All of Castro: PL ok. Highly entertaining ! I love it when he pouts and plays the hurt party in the 2nd act with Gabrielle. He's a bit of a drama queen himself, isn't he ?

Ha, ha. Yep, the lisp was super hard. I did most if my lines 2 or 3 times before I got them right. It was fun to try something new though.

I've been debating whether or not to pick up a role for this. In looking at the script, I can't find any lines for Olga. Are you sure she has a speaking role?
Olga is one of the 4 beauties and they are named as such in the play. She only speaks in chorus I'm afraid. There is still one female individual role left and that is Gabrielle Kato. I tried her first, but then I switched because Jimmie suited me more. She appears in 2 acts and has medium length. About 5 minutes total I'd say. If you want to give her a shot. She's often depressed and unhappy about her situationmightyfelix wrote: ↑April 20th, 2019, 10:49 am I've been debating whether or not to pick up a role for this. If Olga just has a few chorus lines, I'd be happy to take her. I would only want to take on a very tiny role anyway, since I have such a backlog at the moment. I may need some help finding all her lines, though.Kitty wrote: ↑April 20th, 2019, 11:38 amOlga is one of the 4 beauties and they are named as such in the play. She only speaks in chorus I'm afraid. ok I sign you up then. I would say, do all the "Four Beauties" lines (I think there are only two or three) and all those marked "Ladies", "Some Ladies", "Other Ladies". They appear in a cluster shortly after the 4 Beauties. Even if you miss one line, we will have plenty already to make a crowd noise with, so don't worry.mightyfelix wrote: ↑April 20th, 2019, 12:05 pm If Olga just has a few chorus lines, I'd be happy to take her. Here is Sibyl, who is very shy and not talking much. Not on her own, at least...
