Hello :)
does this project have a DPL (though the tilde suggests otherwise, but being new here, I wouldn't want to step on anyone's toes), or could I also help out?
(I'd be interested in reading as well, after I get an OK for my 1-minute test.)

I was a young maid, a grey-haired woman
& a splendid warrior at one time
I flew with birds, swam on a wave
dove under the waves, dead among the fish.
I stepped on the ground, I had a living spirit.

Thanks for your sections,
and Elsie. Would you like to read more sections from this book?
No, Gren, we did not have a dpl until you came along. Welcome to Librivox and have a lot of fun.
Love gothic novels? Try Children Of The Abbey. Like surprising mysteries? Try The Amathist Cross. Looking for an easy read? Try Harriet's Choice.

Would it be possible to add me into the MW thingy? So I could PL okay stuff? Someone managed to somehow grant me access on other projects I volunteered to DPL... :D

Thanks.

Hi Gren,
You have MW access now.
Cheers,
Amy

Section 5 ofr PL:

https://librivox.org/uploads/alg1001/lifeandsayings_05_shillaber_128kb.mp3 28:07

Hello :) Here's my PL notes...

PL notes for Section 5:

8:01-03 - hesitation - (probs due to bad legibility of the scan)
9:33 - :34 slight pause
10:26-10:28 - hesitation, repetition - "dry and... and hot"
13:44-13:45 - strange vroom-vroom noise, not sure if it could be edited out
18:09 - 18:10 - stumble "bef-.. afore"
22:23 - pause
24:03-24:04 - stumble
27:14 - echo/stumble "-ear... ear"

This probably doesn't need to be really altered, so just for future recording: Ike (from what I know and the internet tells me :D) is pronounced like "bike" only without the b :D

Other notes: I really liked your recording, your Mrs. Partington-voice is probably my favourite thing ever and your style makes a text written in slightly oldie English sound as fun as it was meant to be at the time of writing :D

Hello!
I have only a several points that will be easily edited.

PL notes for section 11:
4:50 - 4:56 - repetition with a long pause "German spoons, Margaret"
5:05 - pause
12:35 - 12:38 - pause
12:47 - 12:54 - too long pause between "sections"
17:45 - terraquous shell, said: "terraquous sell"
20:20 - 20:21 - pause
22:47 - slight hesitation ("struggle for light be.. crowned with success")

(11:39 - 11:40 daguerreotype - mispronounced)

- Gren (the DPL :D )

edit.: I really loved your style of reading. You manage to capture the various characters of the strange persons in the short stories really well. That guy who sad "yes, yes, yes... ha, you can't have my horse ... yes, yes, yes" was perfect :D
