I hope this is okay. It was from Wikimedia Commons and some works have a Creative Commons license.

It is nice, but we really can only use cc0 ones, we can't adhere to any images with strings attached So you'll need to find something else :(

With wikimedia you need to go by the date of the painting, not all the stuff they write afterwards. Just stick to 1923 or earlier and you will be OK.
It's just not worth continually pushing the boundaries - There must be other clown PD images around, there may even be one of a clown doll - which is what the book is about.

The HathiTrust scan of the book has pictures in the story, as well as clowns in the very front and back of the book (the pages next to the hardcover). https://catalog.hathitrust.org/Record/006964711
School fiction: David Blaize
Exploration: The First Four Voyages of Amerigo Vespucci
Serial novel: The Wandering Jew

Here is my preclaim for A Golden Day, on March 31st. I was about to upload my cover this morning when I noticed a different cover already there. With apologies to the other designer, I would like my claim to be honored.

It looks like your preclaim got lost in a bunch of chatter. Apologies. Go ahead and upload your cover.

I'm around for the next 15 minutes (until about 10:45 ET). If you can upload it in that time, I can fix it up.

EDIT: I show no preclaims for you at this time. Is that correct?
