    1. How to claim a part, and "how it all works" here To find a section to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are "up for grabs." Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you would like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
    2. New to recording? Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!
    3. Is there a deadline? We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 1-2 months of placing your claim. Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen. Please do not sign up for more sections than you can complete within the two month deadline.
    4. Where do I find the text? Source text (please only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/28990
    5. Please claim sections (the numbers in the first column below)! If this is your first recording, please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog.

Prospective Prooflisteners: Please read the Listeners Wanted FAQ before listening! Level of prooflistening requested: standard

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

May I have 11 and 21?

I was going to either ask for DPL or read, so I guess it will be read.

Beautiful find!

Angelique,

Your recording was very pleasant listening. I felt like it was my favorite aunt reading me a be time story.

There is one thing I would ask you to correct and a few others I noticed that could be left alone since this is a standard PL project.

The ending phrase "End of Chapter 16" seems very quiet when compared to the rest and there is a very different background/environment to it.

I heard these word changes, but will leave it up to you whether you think they need to be revised as they don't detract from the overall story.

@ 3:02 I hear “fair country yard” the text is “a fair courtyard “
@ 5:14 I hear “ so bravely did her brave spirit” the text is “so brightly did her brave spirit “
@ 5:44 I hear “cold and lonely” the text is “lonely and cold”
@ 5:47 I hear “wondering what cruel thing” the text is “wondering what dreadful thing “

Awww, thanks, David.
As a matter of fact, my nieces will tell you that having me read aloud to them is one of their treasured things. *Smile*

I will make corrections over the next few days and reupload. (Yes, the ending was in very different environment ... since I recorded "Chapter 6" about 4 times while in my recording area and then noticed I STILL messed it up when doing my self PL, so added it in, in anticipation of redoing it if/when other changes were needed.)

I appreciate the wonderful comments and your thoughtful listening to the section.

Best,
~Angelique

Thank you again, David, for giving me great notes from which to work.

https://librivox.org/uploads/dlolso21/saintsandbeasts_16_brown_128kb.mp3 [11:03]

"Chapter 16" was changed

Instances modified at:
@ 3:02 I hear “fair country yard” the text is “a fair courtyard “
@ 5:14 I hear “ so bravely did her brave spirit” the text is “so brightly did her brave spirit shine among those cruel men “
@ 5:47 I hear “wondering what cruel thing” the text is “wondering what dreadful thing was to happen next “

Not being particularly pleased with the sound of the above pickups, I decided to decline change of transposition here:
@ 5:44 I hear “cold and lonely” the text is “lonely and cold”

*snigger* It'll sound worse if I try to fix it than it now does. *Blush*

I always appreciate the option though! *Smile*

Looking forward to hearing our first reader for this project!

Angelique,

Both files in my upload folder are the same; the newly uploaded Chapter 16 and the original Chapter 16 are identical.

Angelique,

Nicely re-recorded and edited !! The changes blend in very well.
