Not sure about the glowing read eyes, but I don't want to find out. :shock:
PL OK! And we're off!

Both are PL OK.

I'm trying to work out the missing words of that poem.
"Beware the ice!" I heard him scold,
"Which is not safe unless 'tis cold:
Take my advice, for I am old,
And do not venture here."
"But, oh! we want so much to skate.
He's like the dog," said saucy Kate,
"Who could not eat what others ate,
Yet barked when they came near."

"But do not go so near the brink;
'Tis safer far within the rink;
The water here's as dark as ink:
To go would be a sin."
They heeded not, and in a trice,
Like little birds that feed on rice,
The merry girls flew o'er the ice;
And now, alas! they're in.

But when he heard the dreadful crash,
And saw the drowning maidens rash,
He hurried with his stick of ash
Along the slippery ground.
And others came, and with a sledge
They crept around the dangerous ledge,
And lifted dripping o'er the edge
The maids so nearly drowned.
I did have to cheat on the last two...

Hello!

I'd like to claim section 1 for reading.

PS: It's my first time reading for Librivox so if possible, I'd like to be referred in the catalog as "Peter Kenda".

Thank you

Hello! Welcome to LibriVox!

Yes, of course you may read section 1 for the project! We're glad to have you.

Before you record for this project it is strongly recommended that you complete a 1-minute test. This helps ensure that you have everything set up correctly and that your audio is at the correct levels which saves you from having to re-record files for projects like this one. Here is the wiki page on how to record, upload, and receive feedback on your 1-minute test:
http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/1-Minute_Test

Also, if you haven't already seen it, the Newbie Guide to Recording is a page you should read through:
http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Newbie_Guide_to_Recording

I have added you to the LibriVox catalog, you can see your catalog page at: https://librivox.org/reader/13284. You can also get to this by clicking on your name in the Magic Window (MW). This is a good place to look to keep track of recordings you've signed up for, to see section details click on the link to "Reader Section Details" which appears just a few lines down from your name. This page includes your forum name "Perosu1" and can also contains your name as you specified.

Again, welcome to LibriVox and enjoy!

Hello again!

I've recorded the 1-minute test and uploaded it here:
https://librivox.org/uploads/tests/test_perosu1.mp3 (Audacity, Windows, USB Yeti)
The checker program said "passed" so I hope it's ok.

I also have another question about the actual recording. Must I remove the gulps, breathing and clicks or is that not necessary?

Thank you for the feedback!

Thanks Perosu1! Can you copy this post over to the Listeners & Editors Wanted topic? I'm not able to listen to this right now but there are helpful people over there who can take a listen to your 1-minute test. Thanks again.

I'd like to read Section 3, with the fairy painters and the Russian sentry.
Edit: this will be my first recording for Librivox - just put me in as Goodbytes, thanks.
