This volume of poems was published in 1923, the year Edna St. Vincent Millay became the third woman to win the Pulitzer Prize for poetry. It was perhaps the lead poem in this volume, Renascence, published in 1918 in a literary contest that firs won her wide spread recognition. Her works also included drama and prose, and in 1943 became the second woman to win the Robert Frost Prize for poetry. This volume is divide into three sections of lyric poems, including sonnets, a poetic from of which she was a master. ( Larry Wilson)

Hey Larry!

Will claim a bunch of these, but waiting until you fini the MW!

I noticed that you repeated #12, "The Dream" a second time in the #17 slot, and #26, "The Unexplorer" in the 27th spot. :)

Edit ... I think that 2nd "Unexplorer" is supposed to be "Grown-up", which is missing.

Thanks so much for picking this up, Amy!

It is one of those new 1923 books that popped up in Gutenberg, and I couldn't resist.

I changed the way of grouping the sonnets, so I've now got some extra sections that you can delete, if you would be so kind. I've also edited this to follow our usual short disclaimer for poetry, which I had forgotten to do. Even at that, it may be longer than a few of the really short poems. But, I didn't see any good way of combining them, so we'll let each one stand on its own.

Nemo, you jumped in while I was still formatting the MW, so that is why there were a few things still out of order as I made some changes, but I always appreciate having you keep me straight!

I'll put you in for your choices with my thanks!
(BTW, Cawein Vol 3 will be coming real soon.)

And, finally, A DPL would be welcome

You guys are fast!

This came in as I was composing my post above, but I'm glad to have you with us, Josh, and I've put you in for these. So far, no overlap. I expect the rest go go very quickly, give the popularity of this poet. :D

Hi Larry,
I removed the extra sections, and added Elsie as DPL pending your okay. I'll move you to Short Works now.
May I have 28,29,35, and 42?

Wonderful :!:
Thanks so much.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Although we're not doing "word perfect," we do hold to a little stricter standard for poetry, esp. for these shorter pieces and where word choice is an important part of the poetic form. But, so far we have a line-up of very talented readers, so you'll have some enjoyable listening. :D
