[Complete] The Friendly Five by Mary C. Hungerford - lt
Just a quick update to say sorry for lateness - I have not forgotten and am working on my chapters. I'm finishing editing Ch2 at the moment. I'm being quite particular as I'm learning the VO business and being fussy about my clicks and audio mastering! Ch2 has been a learning experience - first time I've recorded with characters... Ch4 will be much easier now . Have a great day.

It's quite a steep learning curve for all of us when we start out. Although I don't want to encourage you to be slap-dash, remember we are a volunteer organization, and don't require or expect professional quality I will give you an extension til the end of the month. Let me know if you need longer... it's moving slowly, so that shouldn't be a problem.nimnom wrote: ↑April 8th, 2019, 12:53 am Just a quick update to say sorry for lateness - I have not forgotten and am working on my chapters. Oh you’re good! I’m not particularly attached to 3, just wanted to help out Do you want 4? If you want 4, I’ll take 5-7. If you don’t want 4, you don’t have to do it I’d then take 4-7

Hi Lynette,
Here's ch 3. Sorry - was meant to do Ch4 but did 3 instead. Elise has asked for Ch4 - we swapped. Hope that's ok.

Ch 1 PL notes:
The volume is a bit low at 85.9dB. Our goal is 89dB. Could you amplify by about 4 dB please? If you are using Audacity, this is easily done under Effects.
~4:30 There are noises in the background, like slamming doors. It may not be possible to edit them out, but in future recordings, it would be better to re-start the sentence and edit out the one with the noise.

PL notes Ch 2.
The volume is rather low, at 81.9dB. Our goal is 89dB, but 87 - 91 is fine. If you are using Audacity,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_z607awyLw
You may find you can't amplify enough, due to the dynamics of your reading (which is wonderful -- lots of expression!), in which case,

Ch 3 is even quieter, at 75.1 dB
You might want to consider installing the Checker program, written for Librivox. It's free, safe, and easy to use and you can use it to check your volume yourself. I run all my files through the program.
