Special Requirement: Acting. Feel free to go over the top, in fact I would encourage you to do so. Women can read men's roles, men can read women's roles. I'm not particular. But do try to sound a bit masculine/feminine (in that order) if you choose to do so.

1. How to claim a part, and 'how it all works' here
   To find a section to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are “up for grabs.” Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you’d like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.

3. Is there a deadline?
   Target completion date of this project: May 1, 2010, with a March 15th deadline for individual roles – but try to send your recordings as soon as you can. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it’ll go back to the pool. There’s no shame in this; we’re all volunteers and things happen.
4. Where do I find the text?

   Bit Rate: 128 kbps
   Sample Rate: 44.1 kHz
7. DURING recording:
   Make sure you add this to the beginning and end of your recording:
   Start of recording (Intro)
   • "[Character] read by [your name], act #, scene #"
   End of recording
   • At the end of the recording, say:
     "End of Act #, Scene #"
   Also, please remember to check this thread frequently for updates!
8. AFTER recording:
   Need noise-cleaning?
   Please do not noise clean your files.
   
   Save files as
   128 kbps MP3 or Wav
   muchado_character_act#_sc#.mp3 (all lower-case) where ## is your section number. (e.g. muchado_benedick_a1_s1.mp3)
   
   ID3 V2 tags
   Will be added later.
   
   Transfer of files (completed recordings)
   Please always post in this forum thread when you've sent a file.
   Also, post the length of the recording (file duration: mm:ss) together with the link.

Sibella - Yes, have fun with it.

Laurie Ann - You don't have to emote for the narrator but I do need you to record all the standard intro, outro, disclaimers. It will be edited into acts so once per act is good. And please read each characters name once at their first line.

Kara - Yes, I think that's all the boy's lines.

Rosalind - Sorry, it's taken me a little longer to get this up than I'd planned (like a year.) I may take you up on the editing though. And remember I'm not particular so if you'd like to read any of the men's parts, you are welcome to them.

Ok, so when I record I only record my character's lines, but no intros and outros and read bys?

and when I record I say my character's name, and the Act and Scene number?

Do I record it all into one file, or more than one?

And that's all?

All you need to record is "Ursula read by Sibella,* act #, scene #" and then the characters lines. No need for stage directions or lv disclaimer or anything. I would prefer one file per scene but if it's a case of one line in one scene and two in the next, I'll totally understand if people prefer to combine them and submit them as acts.

*Edit: I'll be using this as your credit in the finished work so it should be how you want your name to be in the recording.
