Yes, some pianoes cost more money. We had a twenty dollar upright that someone threw away.

7:42 there are more children born in Roman Catholick countries about nine months after Lent, the markets will be more glutted than usual, because the number of Popish infants, is at least three to one in this kingdom, and therefore it will have one other collateral advantage, by lessening the number of Papists among us. Added than at any other season, therefore reckoning a year after Lent --- after Lent

Next part of the same sentence: the markets will be more glutted - you read gluttoned - can fix this one if you want.
I fixed all of them, thank you! New length - 21:55

Hi elsieselwyn, Welcome to the Nonfiction Collection! Thanks for contributing this colorful political biography! :) "Americans at large have yet a great deal to find out about this lean-faced, sandy-complexioned, twangy-voiced, modest-mannered Yankee who registers embarrassing reticence one moment and displays whip-like decisiveness the next."

Our dedicated proof listener, Craig, will PL it for you.

Thanks Elsie :D

You have a nice reading voice. Overall you did a good job. But a few errors were noted :)

6:00 constituted prima facie evidence of the ability to swing the White House – mispronounced prima facie

prima facie

12:40 either bear the marks of Calvin Coolidge’s handiwork while in the ranks or his signature as chief magistrate – didn’t read the next sentence – Let working men and working women and veterans of the wars and people everywhere take notice of that, too! (bottom of page 18)

17:14-17:28 timid query as to his favorite hobby, he replied, with a twinkle in his eyes: “Running for office, I guess.” – some repetition near the end. Bottom of page 22

17:53 The point is, he uses it advisedly, not at all publicly – repeated

1500 police officers were fired in Boston and replaced with new workers

And I'm glad you did "slide in under the wire," Colleen! :) The Art of Playing is a delightful piece, and if it speaks as much nostalgic nostalgic truth to others as it did to me, this will be a favorite in the nonfiction collection!

What a Woman Ought to Know by Mary Wood Allen 1913

BettyB
Hi Betty, Thank you for your contribution to Vol. 64! :) I think a lot of the advice on choosing a life partner given in this selection rings as true today as it did in 1913.
