Hello there,

I'd like to take Section 3 ("Some Trained Canaries") if it remains open. This will be my first recording, so I hope I can do the project justice! Thanks.

Mr. Silverquill,

Thank you so much for PLing my inaugural upload, and for the positive feedback.

As per your instructions, I've made the following adjustments:
* Using Audacity, I've run Amplification on the clip at a setting of 4.6.
* I've added 5 seconds of silence at the end of the clip.
* Filename has been corrected to read: pets_02_swisshelm_128k.mp3

I have reloaded the clip to the LibriVox server, and here is the new link:
https://librivox.org/uploads/carolin/pets_02_swisshelm_128k.mp3

New running time: 4:56

Apologizing in advance if the clip is still not right. But thanks again for your help, and I look forward to getting it right and doing a lot more.

Cheers,
John Patrick Henry

Did you DPL volunteer not work out? If you're still in need of one, I'll take it.

I was wondering, though, about Section 4 Tom and Others. It is seven chapters and runs on for 44 pages of the book (including illustrations). That's huge.
Thank you larry!

You are welcome to read a section OR become the dpl. I find i do not have the time to jump in when the dpl also reads so i no longer allow mixing these roles. Thank you

Regarding section 4, i think it should come in at around 40 minutes. Thats a lot longer than the other sections, but not too long for one recording i think :)

Understood. Well, since my first two choices are now taken, and I've already PL'd the first few, I'd be glad just to be DPL for this one, if that's okay.
