You read well.

There are a couple things to fix, however:

0:00 - you began directly with the text, but we need the LibriVox intro.
"Chapter [number], part [number] of The Curious Lore of Precious Stones. This is a LibriVox recording. All LibriVox recordings are in the public domain. For more information, or to volunteer, please visit: librivox DOT org"
If you wish, say: "Recording by [your name], [city, your blog, podcast, web address]"
Say:
"The Curious Lore of Precious Stones, by George Frederick Kunz. [Chapter number and name, if it's the start of a chapter. Section text]"

8:14 - a somewhat long pause, might want to cut out about 1/2 second. Then the next sentence beginning "As engraved decoration" repeated at 8:31. (About 8:14-8:31 can be removed.)

13:02 - a skip in the recording: "ceased to be of use in the temple..y be disposed of"

Even though I haven't done this before, I would love to PL your two sections of this book. I really don't know the technical part of it, but I am sure you can guide me. The book sounds so interesting, that I will start PLing it now, awaiting your word. I hope that is OK.
