Rulaman by Christoph David Friedrich Weinland (1829 - 1915).

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/rulaman-by-christoph-david-friedrich-weinland/

https://www.projekt-gutenberg.org/weinland/rulaman/rulaman.html ( Bernd Ungerer)
  • Text source is a printed book (only read from this text!) - the text at Gutenberg is slightly changed and just for general checking suitable: https://www.projekt-gutenberg.org/weinland/rulaman/rulaman.html
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

    • You'll need to select the MC, which for this project is: kikisaulite
    • When your upload is complete, you will receive a link - please post it in this thread.
    • If this doesn't work, or you have questions, please check our How To Send Your Recording wiki page.

    Any questions?
    Please post below

I do not want to spoil all the fun, but it seems that the text that you have linked to is prepared from a 1972 edition. (See Quellenangabe in the corner here: https://gutenberg.spiegel.de/buch/rulaman-2707/) If so, then it is most likely not OK as a source for a Librivox recording. I will let you know as soon as I can find out something definitely.

Damn! I buyed a edition from 1906 on ebay. Would this be okay then for librivox? The earliest version online I could find was from 1972 (gutenberg.spiegel.de).

You both sorted out things very well!! Please let me know when you get the book and I'll set all up. We'll leave this thread just to lie here in the meantime.

I bought the book last sunday on ebay but I doesn't got it until now. I asked the seller about it but if I'll get no answer I double the price and buy it from a commercial seller. It's the same book published in 1906 but in better condition. I'll keep you informed :-)
