Hi -
I am attempting to upload section 8. I thought our MC was mightyfelix, but I don't see that name on the list. Please correct me. What name do I need to indicate? Thanks!

Thank you, Tonewolf, for pointing out the MC, which I saw again when I reviewed my own notes!

Thank you both!
I'll update the MW when I can.
Yes, I'm the BC, not the MC. The BC/MC distinction can sometimes cause confusion, but they are two separate people (usually, not always) with different responsibilities. The MC will always be given in the first post of each project.

Thanks, Betsy, this is very well done! I have one very small note for you. At about 0:27, after "Eohippus the Dawn Horse," please insert the words "Part 2." That's it!BetsyWalker wrote: ↑March 14th, 2019, 12:59 pm Here is a link to my reading of section 8.

Wow, what a cliff-hanger! I'm really enjoying this book even more than I thought I would. Maybe it's lucky for me we never found a DPL. I have two notes for you:DanaPaterson wrote: ↑March 14th, 2019, 6:39 pm Section 17 uploaded Please listen to https://librivox.org/uploads/annise/firstamericananimals_17_langford_128kb.mp3 Running Time 24:23
18:49 "Cold chills crept over him." I'm hearing "cold drills." Please double check and re-record if you agree.
At the end, the pause before "End of section 17" feels very long. Seems like it's about 5 seconds. I'd cut it down to about 3.

RE: Section 17 Managua Part III. “Drills” instead of “chills”. ...and... too much on the tail end.
Both fixes will be straightened out as you suggest.
WHINE: The official text that we are supposed to use appears to have been OCR’ed into existence. I’ve downloaded the source document (available as a PDF file). I’ve had to fix several errors in the official text. I haven’t looked yet but, I’ll bet you’re right about “chilled” being the word that the author wrote. I am certain, though that the official script says “drills”. I will check the pdf and I’m sure that it will say “chills”.

You're reading from an OCR? That doesn't sound right. The archive.org link that I provided in the first post should take you to a scanned copy of the book. Can you show me the link to where you found this OCR copy? Because you really shouldn't be using any source other than what I've linked to in the first post. I'm a little confused.
EDIT: Unless you're reading from the "Full Text" link given at archive? I would avoid that link, if I were you, and just read from the scan. That plain text file is automatically derived from the scan and as far as I know has no human oversight.
