The Jade Flute by Various ( - 0). Translated by Anonymous ( - 0)

This project is now complete. All files can be downloaded from the catalog page here:
https://librivox.org/the-jade-flute-by-various/

A collection of mindful ancient Chinese poetry by Li Po, Wan Ts’u, Mei Chang and other masters set in English prose by anonymous translators. ( Frédéric Surget)
  • Text source (only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/47036
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Looks almost good!

I'll need the number of sections to set this one up. A rough estimate will do, we can always add sections later.
Cheers, Ava.

The collection holding 61 short poems only, I think that 2 sections are OK...

But I in the template generator, maybe I should have pointed to http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/47036 instead of http://www.gutenberg.org/files/47036/47036-h/47036-h.htm

Is it something that needs fixing ?

Thank you very much for your greatly appreciated help ! :D

Er... maybe should I have thought twice about it... 4 sections would be better, I think...

Sorry for any inconvenience...

Have a good day

Okay Frederic, I've set this up for you!
Yes, please give the link to the main page in the future, but it's a simple fix, so I did that too while I was in there.

I have given you 6 sections, that makes 10 poems each. As a rough estimate, this project will be an hour total, so about 10 minutes per section. I think for poetry this is a good length.

Don't forget to leave enough space between the poems so that people know when to stop ;-)

Things I changed in your template:
No need to mention an anonymous translator.

No need to say "various" in the intro/outro, but I would say "by various Chinese poets" in the intro to the very first and the outro to the very last section. You don't have to though, just a suggestion.

No need for ID3 tags anymore in a simple project like this.

As a BC, you are responsible to keep the MW up-to-date. Here's a document that tells you how:
https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=How_to_Update_the_MW (we even have this in French, if it helps!) Holler if you have questions/problems with this one.

Other than that, it looks good I think. Let's stay here for a day or two to grab a DPL.
Have fun!
Cheers, Ava.

I can be DPL here, seeing as it's a very short project :)

Only if you two are not talking in French. That's waay over my head - and not fair to the MC ;-)
