The Student's Life of Washington by Washington Irving (1783 - 1859).

Washington Irving provides another Biography of the Life of George Washington. It is a good understanding of Washington's life, and the many battles he fought for the United States of America. It talks about his presidency, and about his early life. ( Elijah Fisher)
  • Text source (only read from this text!): https://www.gutenberg.org/etext/32987
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

All done, my only quibble is was the text link, it's always better to link to the etext page, cos that's the 1 they say will always be there and because it gives people a choice of formats. But that's a very small quibble
Have fun and let's see if a DPL drops by

Hi Elisha,

Section 01 PL notes:

Just two notes for your review.

@00:00 - Checking if you want to (or should) use "Section" at the very beginning of the intro instead of "Chapter." I noticed there are a few chapters which are made up of two sections each.

At the end of the intro, using chapter is good.

@08:11 - Read: "Lawrence Washington, now twenty-two years of age ..."
Heard: "Lawrence Washington, not twenty-two years of age ..."

This one was debatable (to me) as to whether this difference really changes the intent of the author (as I don't generally comment on small differences which don't change intent), so marked it so you could check it out.

Good job on this section. You have really gotten the background noise under control.

P.S. I'll update the MW status once I get access to the project.

Thank you Donovan :D <smile> I'm planning on using Chapter, and then for a Chapter with two parts I'll say "part 1 of Chapter 45" for example. I will also fix that PL note, because I do think it affects to intent of the author.

Thank you!

Chapter 1 is PL OK! :)

I just realized about an hour ago that I mistyped your name in my last post. It was unintentional, although it appeared I was carrying on the joke. :)
