Hello!
Here is my part for Mrs Pimpernel, (Madame Pimprenelle , it sounds so well in French too, reminding me of an old French word, péronelle, used to name a scatterbrained, talkative young girl... ) in "Everybody's Husband". My longest part so far, I must say it was quite challenging!
https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/everybodyshusband_mrspimpernel_ryan.mp3
I hope it will be understandable enough.
Please do correct my pronounciation if needed, I would record the lines again.
And I am curious, if someone could please explain to me the meaning of Mrs Pimpernel saying "'Tis such a prodigy of a perduction!"
A bientôt !

Since you asked for notes on pronunciation, I did make note of a few:
1:00 "ought" is pronounced with an "aw" vowel, as in "awe" or "saw," rather than "ow" as in "house"
1:51 "patriotic" The first syllable has a long vowel, as in "pay"
8:56 "condescend" has three syllables, and it sounds like you skipped over the second one: "con-des-(c)end" (I put the c in parentheses because it's silent, although you already got that part right!)
8:57 "honor" the "h" is silent
11:32, 11:38, and 11:59 "Thompson" The "h" in this name is also silent, and doesn't affect the "T," so it should have a hard t sound: "Tompson." Don't ask me why. That's just how it's written!
Thanks so much! Nothing is missing, and you did an excellent job all the way through at conveying the appropriate emotions. I'll be able to cut out a few of the stage directions. Oh, and I think that "perduction" is her mispronunciation of "production," referring to the play. I think that hystronomike is also a mispronunciation of something, and is maybe her attempt at Latin, but I'm really not sure about that one!

Just gave it a quick listen and it's an easy PL OK! Very nicely performed -- thank you so much for helping me out.

Oh, soooo sorry, Nemo. We would have made a great old couple. Rain check on that? I promise you the next dance. (As stage director, I will still be right next to you, commentating your every move... ).NemoR wrote: ↑March 5th, 2019, 8:38 pm Hey TJ!
