The Works of the Right Honourable Edmund Burke, Vol. 01 by Edmund Burke (1729 - 1797).

(To be provided) ( To be provided)
  • Text source (only read from this text!): https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/15043
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

    Magic Window:

    BC Admin
  • The reader will record the following at the beginning and end of each file:
No more than 0.5 to 1 second of silence at the beginning of the recording!

"Recording by [your name], [city, your blog, podcast, web address]"
    • Say:
"The Works of the Right Honourable Edmund Burke, Vol. 01, by Edmund Burke. [Chapter]"

For the second and all subsequent sections, you may optionally use the shortened form of this intro disclaimer:
    • "Chapter [number] of The Works of the Right Honourable Edmund Burke, Vol. 01 by Edmund Burke. This LibriVox recording is in the Public Domain."
    • If you wish, say:
"Recording by [your name], [city, your blog, podcast, web address]"
    • Only if applicable, say:
      "[Chapter title]"
    END of recording:
    • At the end of the section, say:
      "End of [Chapter]"
    • If you wish, say:
"Recording by [your name], [city, your blog, podcast, web address]"
    • At the end of the book, say (in addition):
"End of The Works of the Right Honourable Edmund Burke, Vol. 01, by Edmund Burke. "

There should be ~5 seconds' silence at the end of the recording.
  • Example filename edmundburkevol01_##_burke_128kb.mp3 (all lower-case) where ## is the section number (e.g. edmundburkevol01_01_burke_128kb.mp3)

I'll be happy to MC. Back shortly --

edit: You're all set! I've shortened the automatically suggested file name; feel free to adjust it if you like.

Have fun recording! (How many solos can you read at once anyway? :D)

Thank you so much! I really appreciate it.

I like to have a variety, (plus a couple are my school work), but three is usually good for me with a group project or so. I don't know why, I've always enjoyed having like 3-5 different things to read on librivox.

Thank you
Elijah

Thanks, cowguy02! I've entered you as DPL, so you've got access to the Magic Window.

I'll remove the PL Wanted post now.

Actually I may have to back out on you. I am DPLing 3 other things and I just signed another act contract and you know High School takes up a lot of time. So sorry! I just can’t do 40 min chapters right now.

I've removed you from the database, Luke, so you're free.

Elijah, I've moved your DPL Wanted post back to the Listeners Wanted forum (I moved it off the forum earlier).

Thanks! I've put you in as DPL so you can edit the MW. (Going out on a limb and assuming Elijah will be OK with this :D)
