Fond memories as I can exactly picture where the author was standing. I watched the Neva and the island in the middle of it at a similar spot on my trip to St Petersburg.

That was in summer though, so I didn't see any horse racing on the river.

you are really a very gifted storyteller, because you narrated it all very vividly and it's a pleasure to listen to. Well paced, well articulated, all perfect to understand and the local colouring with the Russian pronunciations is an added bonus.

Already I'm looking forward to another of your recordings.

There is only one tiny bit missing right at the beginning:

> at 0:36: you forgot to add the year "1870" between title and author. I wanted the whole title read like it is in the book, with no omissions, and especially since this is a history book, it's good to have the details of a timeline included as well. No need to redo it all, simply record "1870" (or if you wish the whole title) on another Audacity track, try to match the sound and volume a bit to the initial recording and copy/paste it in the correct spot.

The rest is totally word perfect.

Please name the new file exactly the same way as the old, that way the new file will replace the old in the Magic Window.

Since you are asking for any feedback, if I may, I only want to add a small note to your audio quality. Did you do a lot of noise-cleanning ? If so, maybe the numbers you used were a bit aggressive, the sound is slighty echoey. Nothing disturbing, everything is perfectly understandable, but if the noise-cleaning is the cause, then maybe we could find way for improvement there. Or maybe you have automatic noise-cancellation turned on in the mic or the computer, if so, it would be good to turn it off. It's better to make a round of slight noise-cleaning later on in post-processing than cancelling it all out from the start, because the sound is usually warmer that way.

As to your narrative qualities, they are perfect.
