Larry,
At the points below you use different words than are in the poem . . . . .

:11 you say "said to a Psalmist", poem says "the Psalmist"
:28 you say "dust thou art, and dust returnest", poem says "to dust returnest".
1:19 you say "footprints in the sands of time.", poem says "footprints on"

. . . . . which gives me an opportunity to ask ya'll (that's southern for "you guys" (which includes girls)) a question I've been wondering about. How strict should our PL'ing be on these poems? They are generally very short, so it's easy to point out every error and let the reader decide on minor points. And yet, we don't want to take the fun out of this project.

Opinions, please.

Ah, the ageless question of proof listening.

The PL level is Standard, which usually allows for minor differences in the reading and the text If it isn't jarring to the listener or significantly alters the reading, then it can pass. Even that is a judgment call, and people will very.

Poetry, however, is different, We have elements of meter and rhyme to consider.
And, a poet selects words more exactly for their desired effect and nuance. So, I tend to be more strict in poems.
Another consideration in these is the fact that we are all reading the same poem, so differences are more noticeable. So, I think the strict approach is justified.

(I'll get my corrections in).

Hi, Eileen

Your file is misnamed. In future, I recommend you copy and paste the text in the First Post of any project, which shows you what the file name has to be, as in this project:

Save your recording as an mp3 file using the following filename......:
File name - all in lowercase:
psalmoflife_longfellow_your initials_128kb.mp3

Please note that our filenames are never in upper case, and your Save program adds the file type (you just choose.mp3 from a drop down list). Alas, any error of filename causes the system to reject the file. Thus I find the safest way is to copy and paste, as some file names on some projects can be very long, with each keystroke a chance to er.

I could repair this for you, but it is best for newbies to go ahead and learn to do it right.

We have plenty of time, so upload it again and I'll have a listen then.
