And my final contribution for the month!
I was excited to stumble upon this poem and poet new to the catalogue, it looks like:
"Seattle" by W.P. Heneage (died 1891/2?)
https://librivox.org/uploads/rapunzelina/spc189_seattle_jk_128kb.mp3
1:26
I originally found the poem in the beginning of this book:
https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=hvd.32044009883190;view=2up;seq=15;skin=mobile
When I went to look up the author, no Wikipedia page and no biographical information on the internet that I could find except for this article ( https://washingtondigitalnewspapers.org/?a=d&d=SEATPINT18960621.1.4&e=-------en-20--1--txt-txIN------- ) from The Seattle Post-Intelligencer (June 21, 1896), which ends a profile about him with this paragrah:
"Poor Heneage, his life was a mystery! His conduct was so exemplary in the penitentiary that he was soon made librarian of the institution, which position he held, up to the time of his death, four or five years ago".
That's the only thing I could find that speaks to a death date.
The only other thing I should mention is that the newspaper article also reprinted the poem and that one was a little easier to read from. The article is later but still old enough. Sorry to be difficult on this one!
