Hi again wesley, welcome also to this project!
Please see also my reply in the other thread
Great that you want to contribute before getting started, please submit your one minute test. This is not an audition but just a way for us to make sure that your technical settings are in order you can find all instructions here under "recording" https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Main_Page
Thank you!

Good recording - lots of charts to read! Just a note - which you do not need to change - when it says 2d and 3d it probably is better to say 2 days and 3 days instead of 2d and 3d.
The recording does come in at a lower volume than the range that is acceptable and there is a low noise during the recording that is causing an error. You can see the noise especially well at the end of the recording - the last 5 seconds should be a straight line and instead it is fuzzy. You need to noise clean and then increase the volume of the recording and get it closer to 89dB please. If you need help with that let me know and I am more than happy to assist!

OK I'll do that tomorrow.
The Checker found no fault with the volume when I tried.

According to my experience Checker sometimes gives different results according to the settings so I got curious what happened and had a look. On mine the file I retrieved from the server failed due to the noise (I didn't have a listen; I trust Lyndas ears on that) and warned for the volume when I switched off the noise checking. Volume is at 82.7 dB. I have checker 0.96 running on Linux, maybe the newest version (I heard lately that there is a new out but didn't download it yet) acts differently?
I tried making changes but the noise reduction and the amplification, it would only fail.
I don't know how to make the changes work. I'm using the latest version of Audacity.

OK, now it is just over 86dB and is noise reduced, I'm about to upload it now.
Here is section 7.

There were two worked out math examples in the chapter. I could not find a decent way of reading them, and as they are summarized in the text I just left them out (except for giving the answer to the first one - the 161 1/3 value)
Thanks, Todd

Uploaded after changes - I was using the text section number.
Now changed to 29, not 13!
Noise improved and amplified.
New length of file is 25:25

Please remove the 'section 13' one I uploaded!

Yes, I see how those calculations are hard to read! I am fine with you leaving them out as long as Carolin is too.
Here is your PL feedback -
3 :29 – said subject - text says object
7 :39 – said 10 o’clock - text says eight o’clock
8:14 – missed saying “in order to know the heat of the mash”

Thanks for changing the Section number! The file still had a bunch of noise in it so I compressed it and then I cannot remember what I did - I was just playing with Noise Reduction and then Amplify and it then passed. I did not do any other changes to it so while we/I do not normally edit other people's files and upload them I thought I would help you out in this case as this gets it to PL OK
https://librivox.org/uploads/carolin/brewing_29_combrune_128kb.mp3 - 25:26
As for deleting Section 13 - that will happen automatically (it will be written over) when you record and upload Section 13.

Thank you all so much
