David, I completely understand and don't blame anyone. There's a lot to sort through. Thank you for confirming!

Hi, I would like to claim Chapter 42. I'm very new to this. I made a successful 1-minute test and did a weekly poem after that. I've watched lots of the very helpful videos by Phil C about the processes, but have a couple of questions...do I record the chapter in one sitting? It's short, so I can do that, but, in general, do people record even long chapters all in one session? Also, what name are you asking for to post in the Librivox catalogue...screen name or real name?
Thanks so much,
Nancy

Welcome to LibriVox
1. In general, I like to record even long sections in one sitting. I just find it logistically easier and it also assures a more consistent sound throughout. Different sessions sometimes will have a slightly different sound to them, even if all of the parameters are the same. But, recently, I had a long section that I ended up doing in three sessions due to interruptions, and I managed to get it edited together OK. In the end, just do whatever you are most comfortable with. (I will often record multiple short sections in one session, just because it is easier that way if I have a block of time).
2. Many people do use their real names for the Catalog, like me, but others use a pseudonym or nickname. Just remember that this is how you will be credited for all your LV work. The choice is entirely up to you.
I'll save this section for you.

Great! Thank you for the suggestions and for being so welcoming. You all seem to have such a friendly community here. I will get started on Chapter 42. You can use Nancy Beth Leary as my name for the catalogue. I think this is going to be fun!
