The Cave Twins by Lucy Fitch Perkins (1865 - 1937).

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/the-cave-twins-by-lucy-fitch-perkins/

Lucy Perkins has given us many books featuring twins that give a child insight into different cultures and countries. In this one she explaining prehistoric man and his environment "This is a story about things that happened ages and ages ago, before any of us were born, or our great-great-grandfathers either, for that matter. It was so very long ago that there were no houses, or farms, or roads from one place to another, and there was not a single city, or a town, or even a village in the whole earth. There was just the great, round world, all fresh and new, and covered with growing things; and there were wild beasts of all kinds in the forests, and fishes of all kinds in the seas, and all sorts of birds and flying creatures in the air.
Besides all these wonderful things in the new, new world, there was Man" Her stories are always well written, entertaining and informative. Let's follow those impursive 8 year old twins with "bright twinkling eyes and flaming red hair" as they encounter dangers and adventures in very early history. ( Phil chenvert)
    1. How to claim a part, and "how it all works" here To find a section to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are "up for grabs." Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you would like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
    2. New to recording? Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!
    3. Is there a deadline? We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 1-2 months of placing your claim. Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen. Please do not sign up for more sections than you can complete within the two month deadline.
    4. Where do I find the text? Source text (please only read from this text!): https://archive.org/details/thecavetwinslucy00perkrich/page/n13?q=clan+of+the+cave+bear
    5. Please claim sections (the numbers in the first column below)! If this is your first recording, please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog.

Prospective Prooflisteners: Please read the Listeners Wanted FAQ before listening! Level of prooflistening requested: standard

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Hello Phil,

I hope this is not bad etiquette, but, could I claim this as a Solo?

Thanks,
Bhavya

Answering for Phil, answer is -"Go Ahead". I'll give you access to the MW

You'll still want a DPL so I'll stay here in the launch pad a day or two.

Thanks, Todd

I apologize for the delay in responding, my wife has been very sick of late. Anyway, Todd was right, you may indeed claim this as a solo. If you are still interested let me kmnow and I will see what needs to be done.

You might have to advertise over in Listeners and Editors Wanted to get a DPL.

Thanks, Todd

I will need to remove the existing links in the MW, and reupload them with the correct file name. Will do it by today.
