Hi, quick question. I'm prepping the Catullus section to record. In the text each poem ends with "Translation of [Name]." Would it be acceptable to move that to after the title of the poem and say "Translated by [Name]" instead? Just seems clearer that way.
Hello, and thanks for asking. I totally understand what you say. But our policy is to read the text as is, so I will have to ask you to keep as it is in the book.
With regard to Section 14 (bio note on Carducci), I encountered this:
'The poem that first attracted attention and caused no little flutter of ecclesiastical gowns was the 'Hymn to Satan,' which appeared in 1865 in Pistoja, over the signature "Enotrio Romaho," and bore the date "MMDCXVIII from the foundation of Rome."'
Looks like 2618.
That date, Wikipedia translates into MMCDXVIII which is 2417.
Still not correct, as the founding of Rome is listed as 753 BC.
I could give the date followed by [sic] but wanted to check first. Please advise...

I think it is correct... MMDCXVIII would be 2618. That is, the poem was written in the year 2618 from the foundation of Rome. The Foundation was in the year 753 before Christ, so, minus 753. 2618 minus 753 is 1865, which is when it says the poem was written. He counted the year 1865, when he was writing, and added the 753 to get to the date From the Foundation of Rome.
But if you ever lose it, it is easy to get to it. Go to the Librivox Catalog and search for your own name.
