Hello!Voxandis
I've completed Section 6 - Naomi's Wedding Bells [12m 7s]:
Thank you for your smoothly read contribution here; there were very effective moments of vocal tension!
All with your reading is A-Ok, with one note on technical specifications:
In the Librivox Checker, the background noise is coming in at 43.7.
I find it to be best when it is below 38 or so, but sometimes 40 will still sound okay.
If I have questions about the noise level, I will listen on regular headphones (as opposed to my laptop speakers, as I usually do) to determine if the background sound is interfering with listening at all.
If it is, then I'll know that those who are listening via earbuds will have more difficulty in listening. And I DO want them to best hear you. *Smile*
(Also, how neat is that? People are hearing our recording on all kinds of devices! *Smile*)
To reduce background noise level, this article may help you.

Best,
I've tried the noise-reducing techniques from that link, let me know if it is better:

By the way, how did you check what the background noise was? I use the Librivox Checker too but it doesn't seem to say anything about background noise?

I'm looking for feedback on my recordings, especially on storytelling and character voices (but any feedback is welcome, I'm here to learn!). My recent contributions:
Fairytale: Tufty Riquet
Play: The Dream, role of Wovelreid: Act II, III

For background noise, best use your ears. The calculated background noise does not always match reality, though it can give a good yardstick to dpls. Almost every reader needs to do a standard noisecleaning routine, so you can probably do one round of cleaning without any specific measurements. The thing is that noisecleaning can do some damage to your sound quality if you overdo it, so when you dont hear background noise, best leave it at the one standard round of noisecleaning

Let me know if there are any issues or need to record anything.
You can also assign me to the next section/chapter -- Sec. 22, Chapter 4.
Thanks very much!

Ahhh, very nicely done, Kaely!KaelyMonahan
Sec. 21 of Faith, Chapter 3 is done.
Mr. Gaspard's voice was spot on it, and you definitely added the element of intrigue to the story.
One tiny note.
"Home" and then at
8:56 Missing sentence: "And at the word she shuddered."
Very pleased to see you accept another section, and happy to spot check your add in here.
Thanks!

Well,
Section 3 is done......
I'm mildly terrified of how that "written in" accent would go over if someone with a real Scottish brogue were to listen to it so please let me know what you think!
If it happens to be that I should scrap it and start over, I'm completely open to that.

Hi, Melissa!
I very much look forward to listening to this, especially your brogue, *Smile* but cannot open the file.
Please upload again?
Thanks!

I suppose it would help if I copied the link correctly.

Happens to us all, Melissa. *Smile*
Today, I thought I had lost three files for my solo project.
All I could say was "Welllll. I'll upload them ... once I (*OH I SO HOPE!*) find them."
*Laugh* All good.
I shall have any notes to you by the AM.
Thank you for your quick, and open responses!
