There's a conversation in the chat thread that may interest you re the use of dead white and dead black in covers viewtopic.php?p=1544299#p1544299

Thanks. I think I see what you mean about dead white. I did try a border on my first cover (opening a chestnut burr) but didn't realize it would get clipped a little at the corners for the THUMB sized. I don't think I'll be using that much white again, but it was such a nice black & white drawing. :) (maybe I should have posted this on the other thread, sorry)

if you look at that
https://archive.org/details/the_daredevil_1901_librivox

and this

You can see what Michele means.
There aren't rules about the artwork as long as it's PD, it is just that slightly offwhite edges look better on LV and probably most apps but make no difference on Archive and with black the opposite effect is seen. It doesn't have to be a frame

Anne, I notice the images referenced below, on both LV and IA, are still the fuzzy versions. Sorry for the inconvenience, but when you get time could you please replace it with the most recent images I sent.
msfry wrote: January 22nd, 2019, 7:42 am Here it is, correct size:

EDIT; Just checked and for some weird reason the first itemimage replacement I sent you looks a bit fuzzy. I've uploaded it again, just now 9:30 a.m.

EDIT: and then I noticed that the elementsofconchology_1901.jpg is also fuzzy, so I uploaded them both again at 10:50, (zip file same name). The original cover isn't fuzzy at all. This happens when I downsize the psd file instead of saving the psd as a jpg in original size, then downsizing the jpg. I try so hard not to do that!
