Thanks!

Hi Eric - I have already claimed it above - the MW just has not been updated yet....

Lynda
Lmnei,
You can have those sections. Thanks for claiming.
Eric,
Sorry but Lmnei claimed it before you. Would you like anything else?
I apologize sincerely for my delayed response.

Some of this was a bit uncomfortable but I have good memories of reading this book when I was about Huck's age. The characters made me laugh back then and they still do. Had a lot of fun with the colloquialisms and character voices.
Thanks, Pete.
I recently read this for the first time and it is very good but yes, can be uncomfortable at times.

Hi Eric,
Welcome to LibriVox!
Don't worry, section 32 is reserved for you.

Before you begin, we need you to do a 1-Minute test. It's not an audition, just a test to make sure your tech specs are right.
You can post it in this thread or start a new topic in the Listeners and Editors Wanted forum.
You can find more info here:

https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=1-Minute_Test

Have fun!

Greetings -

Chapter 8 was well read but it has a steady bit of background noise. It doesn't detract from the listening but could possibly be cleaned up with a touch of software magic.

Chapter 9 is one for the books. Nicely read with a great voice. PL OK in the MW.

I'll give it a try. I did noise reduction a couple of times already. Someone told me to use normalize, but gives it a slightly tinny sound. I'll see what works best. I just noticed that I didn't have an OUtro. I'll add that while I'm at it.

Here is Chapter 8 with the noise reduction filter used. At the very end, I had forgotten the outro. I plugged the microphone into another USB port to see if that could have been the problem with the background noise. It appears that it was. The outro sounds much better. I am willing to re record the chapter if you think I should. The deadline is still a month away.

Greetings -

Unless powers that be greater than me think it needs to be recorded, I am good to go with this. Thanks for the extra work.

Hello,

I submitted my test using Audacity software using a windows OS and a USB mic.

I'd love any feedback.

Thanks,

I apologize for that. I put the new link and time in, just forgot to change the status...
