Occasionally the author uses a French phrase, and I shall try to use Linguatec to get good pronunciation help. Is there any circumstance in which one could instead read the translation? (I think no.)

The policy at LV is to read texts, "as is." Hopefully, the prose following the French phrases will assist the reader in understanding their meaning.

I completely understand. I've got to find a translation program that will slow the sound down.
I'll look for some Google info on that option.

Pronunciation help can be obtained here. I don't see any recent posts but it wouldn't hurt to make a request (post a copy of some French prose copied from the text you are reading) and see what happens.

Thank you! I will do that. In Ch 1 there's a paragraph of French. I can do names and cities but a whole paragraph is a little daunting!

I've started with Chapter 2 because I have more work to do on my French paragraph in Chapter 1. I'll keep trying to make it sound comprehensible as I move forward with the other chapters!

It's important to fill in the MW - title (chapter number and/or title), notes (file duration in mm:ss) and listen url (the url above). The DPL will check these for errors as well as listen to the recording.

edit: I filled in the info for section 2. Do you want to include the chapter title (in addition to or instead of the chapter number)?

Thanks for the help, Craig. I do remember now that I'm supposed to go to the Magic Box (??) to fill in the rest of the information. Ooops! I will do so next time.
This is one of the differences in Going Solo, as I recall!

Craig, I've decided to put chapter titles in the Magic Window--more engaging, I think, than just Chapter 2. However, I have lost the part of my memory (it seems) about how to access the Magic Window. I did a quick search and did not find instructions. Can you jump start my flagging brain in this direction?
